WELCOME!
Jewel Schloemer, CPM. LM
Welcome to Created For You. I'm excited for the journey that awaits you and the possibility of joining you on your adventure.
A little bit about me... I have been surrounded by pregnancy and birth for over 30 years in a variety of settings. When the opportunity to become a midwife presented itself, this only seemed fitting. And indeed, it has been an amazing and passionate fit! I have been involved with approximately 300 births. Walking alongside moms and dads throughout their pregnancy and birth has been such a privilege. For some they have become part of my extended family. Additionally I love Jesus, I love my husband of 40 years along with our 4 children and their amazing spouses and kiddos!
There's no doubt you have questions about what midwifery care would look like for you. I understand. I encourage you to contact me to set up a meet and greet for a noncommittal meeting just to answer those questions. Having a home birth is more affordable than one would think. In the meantime, congratulations on your pregnancy!

PRENATAL CARE
LABOR AND DELIVERY
Midwifery is optimal due to the continuity of care. No shift change with new faces. You are cared for from beginning to end, all in the comfort of your own home (or other home of your choice).
POSTPARTUM CARE
Healthcare is provided for both you (up to 6 weeks) and your newborn (up to 2 weeks). Home visits occur 24-48 hours postpartum, 1-2 weeks and a 6 week well woman visit. (Placenta encapsulation is offered at an additional charge of $200.)
Timely visits allow for plenty of care in the comfort of your own home. Diagnostic lab, genetic and ultrasound screenings will be customized to your individual needs and/or desires.
MORE ABOUT

Pregnancy is such a unique time in one’s life and it should be treated as such. It is as unique as you are and that is my approach when you become my client. My holistic approach to your care is different than routine maternity practice you would find elsewhere. I take the time needed during your prenatal appointments to both care and listen.
It is my mission to educate while co- sharing in the decision-making regarding your healthcare. With this in mind, when it comes to routine medical care, you will have a choice in choosing the type of care for both you and your baby.
It is truly my honor to have you as a client. I look forward to being on this journey with you for the best experience and outcome.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
THE IDEA OF DELIVERY AT HOME WITH A MIDWIFE IS STILL NEW TO ME. IS IT REALLY SAFE?
That is an excellent and very common question. I uphold The Midwives Model of Care™ which is based on the fact that pregnancy and birth are normal life events. As a midwife, I believe in the continuity of care, where I see clients from beginning of the pregnancy through postpartum. My outlook is the anticipation of a healthy birth but that if something should deviate from the normal, together, we will make decisions for the best possible outcome for both you and your baby.
All that to say, there are certain criteria that we will review in your health history to make sure you qualify as a potential client. Midwifery is an excellent choice for those experiencing a low-risk pregnancy.
WHAT SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE?
Created For You Midwifery provides prenatal care, labor and delivery services, newborn and postpartum care, all in the comfort of your home, if that's what you desire. Extenuating circumstances such as VBAC, breech, and twin birth are provided as well.. All diagnostic testing/ultrasounds are referred out, when needed. I also offer placental encapsulation, if desired, at an additional cost. For those who desire midwifery care and all that if offers but want to delivery in a hospital setting (i.e. VBAC/insurance needs), then another option as Montrice is available to you. A monitrice is someone who is trained in assessing vital signs, palpating fetal position, monitoring fetal heart tones, and checking cervical progress for a woman in labor. A monitrice does not deliver the baby, but these skills help support women by laboring at home until arriving to a hospital in active labor, where the role would switch to labor support. This continuity of care provides stability for the laboring mom.
DO YOU WORK ALONGSIDE OTHER HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS?
Yes, I work in collaboration with other healthcare providers, attaining the goal of best practice that is created for you. Your health is of utmost importance.
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
I don't take insurance at this time and would be considered an out of network provider. A super bill will be provided for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement (most likely at 50%. but please check with your insurance). For those that have a health-care share program, i.e. Samaritan Ministries, Created For You Midwifery is an excellent choice for care.
I AM CURRENTLY SEEING ANOTHER PROVIDER. CAN I TRANSFER MY CARE?
Yes of course! The transfer process is as simple as a signature. I will take care of transferring your records from your previous provider to my practice.
